What’s New in Magnet AXIOM Cyber 5.9

We’re happy to announce the availability of Magnet AXIOM Cyber 5.9!

You can upgrade to the latest version within AXIOM Cyber or over at the Customer Portal.

AXIOM Cyber 5.9 continues to make the remote acquisition experience more mature and more collaborative by introducing the ability for examiners sharing workstations to see and access all remote agents that have been created with that shared workstation.

Plus, AXIOM Cyber now gives examiners who are working law enforcement cases, such as child exploitation investigations, the ability to turn on law enforcement specific features that were initially not included in AXIOM Cyber. Not to mention new and updated artifacts!

Client-Based Remote Agent Visibility in AXIOM Cyber 5.9

In previous versions of AXIOM Cyber, if two or more examiners were sharing a workstation, they would only be able to see and access the remote agents that they had configured themselves.

Now with AXIOM Cyber 5.9, examiners can see and access not only the remote agents that they’ve created, but also all the remote agents that have been created using that shared workstation.

This simplifies and organizes the management and deployment of remote agents on shared workstations resulting in time savings for examiners enabling them to get to evidence and analysis faster.

Trey Amick, Director of Forensics Consultants put together this blog post, Agent Visibility Updates for AXIOM Cyber, to quickly walk you through how you can use this new client-based approach to collaborate with other examiners when sharing a workstation.

Turn On Law Enforcement Features in AXIOM Cyber 5.9

When AXIOM Cyber was initially launched, it was designed to be purpose-built for enterprises performing investigations such as incident response, fraud, data exfiltration, employee misconduct, and a whole host of other types of investigations that happen in the private sector. Part of that design was to turn off features typical to law enforcement investigations, mostly those related to child exploitation investigations.

However, a group of customers that had the need for all the features, both corporate and law enforcement emerged. To give those customers the flexibility and features they need, we’ve now included the ability to turn on additional features such as media grading or officer wellness in the Settings of AXIOM Cyber as seen in the picture below.
