Hi, this is Jessica Hyde and I wanted to share about an exciting event we have planned for the Magnet Virtual Summit on February 27: Mentorship Day! I can’t wait for this event and wanted to take a minute to share the details about the presentations and limited 1:1 mentorship meetings available as part of this special day.
Presentations and Panel Discussions
We have lined up some excellent digital forensics all-stars to take part in a special presentation: “Moving Up in DFIR: a Mentorship Panel”.
I am honored to be hosting and moderating a panel consisting of four incredible mentors: Mari DeGrazia, Mitch Kajzer, Alexis Brignoni, and Aaron Sparling. Check out their Cache Up episodes to learn more about their history in the industry. It is a complete and total honor to get to participate in this interactive live session with four of my personal mentors who give so much to grow others.
This is your opportunity to ask questions and learn from leaders in our industry from law enforcement to academia to consultancy and all the transitions and movements in between. If you are looking to take the next step in your career, this is the panel for you!
Additionally, I am pleased to be able to share my thoughts for successful mentoring sessions for mentors and mentees alike in a presentation, “Growing in Digital Forensics – Practical Mentorship and Resources”. This session will focus on a variety of topics important to folks at different stages in their career, including:
- Critical skills to stay competitive in today’s market
- Resources for staying current in DFIR
- Tips for lateral movers
- Ways to differentiate yourself from others in the interview process
- Importance of mentorship
- How to find a mentor
- Tips for successful mentoring sessions for mentors and mentees
- Growing your personal DFIR brand
- Collaborating with digital forensics and incident response community
