As AI and cloud evidence redefine digital investigations, thousands gather for Magnet Virtual Summit 2026
WATERLOO, Ontario — Feb. 23, 2026 — Magnet Virtual Summit 2026 begins today, bringing together thousands of digital investigation professionals from around the world at a time of significant change for the field. Taking place February 23–26, the virtual event focuses on how investigators are navigating the realities of AI-generated content, expanding cloud data sources, and increasingly complex digital investigations. Registration and participation for the event are free and attendees can take part in as many sessions as they choose.
Now in its sixth year, Magnet Virtual Summit has become a key annual forum for law enforcement, corporate security, incident response, academic research, and forensic service providers around the world.
More than 9,000 attendees are expected to participate in this year’s event, which emphasizes practical insights — grounded in real cases, evolving investigative techniques, and lessons learned from the front lines. Attendees will also have the opportunity to dive deeper into Magnet Forensics products directly with experts.
“As digital evidence grows more complex, investigators are being asked to make faster decisions with higher stakes and less margin for error,” said David Miles, President at Magnet Forensics. “Magnet Virtual Summit is about providing the perspective and practical knowledge from industry experts needed to adapt to new investigative realities.”
Across four days, sessions explore how emerging technologies are reshaping investigations, from the growing presence of AI-generated and manipulated media to the challenges of collecting and analyzing evidence spread across mobile devices, cloud platforms, and enterprise environments.
Speakers include investigators and subject matter experts from organizations such as AWS, Home Depot, Scotiabank, Seattle Police Department, Louisiana Bureau of Investigation, and many more, alongside Magnet Forensics specialists who work directly with public and private sector teams.
Keynote sessions anchor the program with a forward-looking lens:
- David Bray, PhD, a nationally recognized leader at the intersection of emerging technology, national security, and digital evidence, examines how AI and automation are accelerating change across investigative work.
- Veteran journalist Chuck Whitlock, a renowned expert on white-collar crime and fraud prevention, brings his perspective on overlooked risks and investigative fundamentals in an increasingly high-tech world.
In addition to presentations, the summit emphasizes interactive learning and direct engagement. Attendees can participate in the hugely popular Capture the Flag competition, designed to test technical skills in a realistic investigative environment; attend deep dive discussions on AI, mobile investigations, cyber, and legal topics with digital forensic specialists; and take part in live Q&A sessions with Magnet Forensics experts tailored to public safety and enterprise investigators.
Magnet Virtual Summit 2026 runs through February 26, with on demand access available to registered attendees. Registration remains open at www.magnetvirtualsummit.com.
