Magnet Forensics is looking to help agencies address a global talent shortage in digital forensics by offering the Magnet Forensics Scholarship Awards.
These awards provide promising officers with unlimited access to training for one year, helping them build skills in a discipline that is becoming increasingly important to modern criminal investigations.

Who can apply
Applications are open around the world, and they focus on two categories: New to Digital Forensics and Advanced in Digital Forensics.
The New to Digital Forensics category is designed for promising officers who are looking to begin a career in digital forensics.
The Advanced in Digital Forensics category is intended for experienced investigators who have little or no experience with Magnet Axiom and want to expand their expertise in digital investigations. This award also provides an opportunity for investigators at agencies that use Magnet Graykey to further develop their expertise with the platform.
What recipients can receive
- Access to a full curriculum of digital forensics training required to become a digital investigator
- Eligibility to earn leading digital forensics certifications, including:
- Magnet Certified Forensic Examiner (MCFE)
- Magnet Certified Graykey Examiner (MCGE)
- Magnet Certified Verakey Examiner (MCVK)
- Magnet Certified Griffeye Examiner (MCGF)
- Magnet Certified macOS Examiner (MCME)
- Magnet Certified Cloud Examiner (MCCE)
- Magnet Certified Authenticity Examiner (MCAE)
- Magnet Certified Video Examiner (MCVE Witness)
- Magnet Mobile Certified Examiner (MMCE)
- A one-year license of Magnet Axiom

Caitlyn Kaufman Award (Prosecutor Impact Award)
In addition to our digital forensics-focused awards, we have a new award honoring prosecutors who exemplify excellence in using digital evidence to drive justice, while demonstrating integrity, compassion for victims, and meaningful impact on communities.
The award is named in honor of a Nashville citizen who was the victim of a violent crime. Her legacy and spirit of service in the nursing profession continue to inspire her community.

The inaugural Caitlyn Kaufman Award was presented last year to Sarah Davis, Assistant District Attorney General, 16th Judicial District, Rutherford and Cannon counties, for her outstanding leadership in violent crime investigations and unwavering commitment to victim advocacy.
In honor of Sgt. Steve Martin
With the Magnet Forensics Scholarship Awards, we’re proud to have the award named in honor of an officer who committed his career to the fight against child sexual exploitation: Sgt. Steve Martin.
Sgt. Martin joined the Peel Regional Police in 2003, beginning his career on uniform patrol. He would go on to serve with the agency’s neighborhood policing unit and its Criminal Investigation Bureau before joining its Internet Child Exploitation unit in 2013.
He died in January 2021, at the age of 40, after a long bout with cancer, leaving behind his wife and six-year-old daughter.
