Magnet Forensics completes IRAP assessment to support secure evidence review for Australian agencies
Independent IRAP assessment validates Magnet Review against Australian government security standards.
WATERLOO, ON — May 7, 2026 — Magnet Forensics, a global leader in investigative intelligence solutions, today announced it has completed an Infosec Registered Assessors Program (IRAP) assessment for Magnet Review, its cloud-based real-time evidence sharing and collaborative review solution within the Magnet One platform. With this assessment, Australian government agencies can modernize digital forensic workflows in the cloud knowing that security requirements are being met.
IRAP is an independent assessment framework governed by the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) and is often a prerequisite for Australian federal government procurement of cloud solutions or systems that will store, process, or communicate sensitive government data. Completion of the assessment confirms that Magnet Forensics’ platform has been independently evaluated to support government security and risk requirements, including investigations that often involve highly sensitive data.
The IRAP assessment, conducted by Schellman, an independent, ASD-endorsed IRAP assessment firm, evaluated Magnet Review against the Australian Government’s Information Security Manual (ISM) at the “PROTECTED” classification level. Agencies can use the assessment report to support their internal Authorization to Operate (ATO) processes, significantly reducing the time required for security evaluations.
“This milestone demonstrates to Australian agencies that Magnet Forensics has made security a top priority as they modernize digital investigations,” said Sean Price, Chief Revenue Officer, Magnet Forensics. “By completing the IRAP assessment, we’re making it easier for government organizations to move forward confidently with cloud adoption in digital forensic workflows while maintaining the high security standards required to handle sensitive investigative data.”
Magnet Review provides secure real-time sharing and collaboration across investigative teams, enabling examiners, investigators, and prosecutors to review and share digital evidence without relying on physical media transfers. With IRAP-assessed cloud infrastructure, examiners can safely share evidence with non-technical stakeholders while ensuring the chain of custody remains intact and secure.
Together with the recently announced FedRAMP In Process status in the United States, the completion of the IRAP assessment for Magnet Review in Australia underscores the company’s ongoing investment in meeting rigorous government security requirements across regions as agencies modernize digital investigations in the cloud.
