Forensic analysis of ChatGPT
As AI misuse becomes a growing concern, it’s increasingly important for law enforcement to understand how to identify and interpret digital evidence from AI tools like OpenAI’s ChatGPT mobile app for iOS and Android. This session will explore forensic artifacts generated by ChatGPT, including JSON, protobuff, and log files, and demonstrate how forensic tools can support investigations involving AI-generated content.
Niels Renken joined Magnet Forensics as a Solutions Consultant in May 2022. In his role at Magnet Forensics, he assists customers with technical questions related to Magnet Forensics products and conducts smaller workshops. Prior to this, Niels worked for 17 years at Sun Microsystems / Oracle as a Principal Support Engineer. His responsibilities included supporting and maintaining Solaris UNIX, Linux, SPARC and Intel servers, storages, networks, SAN, and clusters. During this time, he spent five years at the Sun HQ in Santa Clara, California, USA, where he gained valuable international experience. Niels began his career as a System Engineer, working for two years with UNIX, Linux, Windows NT, and Novell Netware. These diverse experiences have provided him with a deep understanding of various operating systems and network technologies.
