Twist of Fate Opens Door To Digital Forensics Startup
WATERLOO — It was one of those unexpected twists of fate that led Jad Saliba down a completely new path and into his own digital forensics technology company.
In 2007, when he was a police officer with the Waterloo Regional Police Service, Saliba was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a type of cancer.
After a year of radiation and chemotherapy treatment, he was in remission, but because of his medical situation at the time, he took a desk job in the tech crime unit, which does computer forensics to investigate crimes ranging from fraud to child pornography.
