WATERLOO, ON. (September 23, 2015) – Magnet Forensics, the global leader in the development of digital forensics software that recovers evidence from computers, smartphones and tablets, announced today the release of Magnet IEF™ v6.7. This release adds a number of new features and artifacts for investigators recovering and examining data from iOS and Android backups, mobile chat applications, and contraband materials found on computers.

Magnet IEF v6.7 Resource Center:

Analyze more evidence on computers

Magnet IEF v6.7 provides examiners with the ability to export pictures and videos into programs like Analyze DI by Griffeye, formerly known as NetClean. This new function is meant to complement our already powerful pre-categorization and media analysis methods used to quickly locate contraband materials. Additionally, examiners will also receive an alert when encryption or anti-forensic program software has been detected on the computer being investigated.

Recover more evidence on mobile devices

The release of Magnet IEF v6.7 allows examiners to recover data from the latest smartphone applications and provides mobile chat recreations to support the data found.

This means there is more support for new and popular mobile chat and social networking applications, Chat Threading  capabilities for both iOS SMS/MMS/iMessage and Android SMS/MMS, and reconstruction of Android and iOS Backups including decryption.

One of the biggest challenges our customers face is not being able to decrypt iOS and Android backups without having to use another tool. With this release, examiners will be able to decrypt backups quickly and efficiently using Magnet IEF.
